I’ve joinced Krissie’s food journal challenge. It starts today… but my eats are from yesterday. I’m always a day behind so hopefully that’s ok!!
I didn’t technically reach my goal of a chocolate free day… but it was Fat Tuesday afterall. And I am trying to give up chocolate for lent (at least Mon-Fri!) so I think it all evens out in the end.
Breakfast was another massive bowl of cereals. Chex, Puffins, Kashi Crunch. I can’t get enough of this and having a cup and a half of cereal with soem fruit does keep me filled. A serving (of 3/4 cup) of cereal just doens’t get the job done!

I snacked on a navel orange around 11:30.. instead of chocolate! Score one for Jeannie.

Lunch was yet again a sandwich. I ran out of pickles (small tragedy if you ask me!) so I improvised. I’d packed just turkey and cheese with a little bit of light mayo and spicy mustard. However, when I was cutting my apple for the side I decided to throw a few small slices in the sandwich! You can’t see it, but believe me it’s quite the hidden treasure. The crunch and sweetness made this sandwich and allstar.

On the side I had some not-so-pretty soup. But it was delicious and got 2 veggie servings in!

Around 32pm a coworker brought me a treat. I put it in my drawer and didn’t eat it right away. But then I started thinking about Lent starting up and me being chocoalte-less… and so I took it out of hiding and promptly ate it. I truly love Easter candy. Especially the creme eggs!

Then since that obviously didn’t fill me up for a snack I had some crudites (how exactly do you spell that?) and roasted garlic hummus. I’ve decided I like cukes much better than baby carrots…. in case you care.

This might be the ugliest dinner ever. Even worse than some of my lean cuisine dinners! I’ll blame some of it on the camera (used my iPhone), but most of it on the randomness of it all. I’ve got 1 98% fat free Oscar Mayer hotdog with 1/2 kraft single on top. Then there’s an egg and egg white scrambled up with the other half of the cheese. Ketchup for dipping, and then a sandwich thin for good measure. It looks hideous, but it hit the spot, in a big way.

Immediately following I had a yogurt parfait for dessert. INSTEAD of the Breyers ice cream I’d planned on. Hello healthy choices! It’s a yoplait thick and creamy yogurt (mixed berry perhaps?), some homemade granola and about 1/4 of a banana.

What’s not shown is two huge mugs of decaf tea that I drank while watching the first few episodes of 30 Rock (season 1). These 2 mugs of tea also made me get up to pee THREE times during the night. I should really look into not drinking so much so close to bed time. But I love my nightly tea. And if early morning pee runs are the price to pay… well that’s not too horrible (as long as I can get back to sleep!)
hi there….i arrived at your blog through the food picture challenge… i have to comment here…the one time of day when a big steaming mug of SOMETHING is the most beneficial…it gets u up at all hours to pee! For me, it works, because I have a senior citizen dog that has to go out several times a night..but for some I can imagine it’s not pretty. I enjoyed looking at your food !*L* Also, hot dogs and scrambled eggs seems like comfort food to me…!
